Ashok Nagar Nala Parking Project
Jaipur, Rajasthan
Jaipur is known as one of the first planned cities of India. Jaipur City was not only planned but its execution was also coordinated in such a manner that a substantial part of the city developed up within seven years of its foundation. The municipality was reorganized in 1926 and a new Municipal Act was prepared in 1929. Post independence, planned development of the city was taken up after the city became the capital of Rajasthan.
The growing population and economic activity is already straining the existing infrastructure. The pressure is being felt by water supply, sewage, power and parking spaces since there are several areas within the walled city as well as outside where congestion is significant on account of roadside parking of vehicles leading to the reduction in effective carriage way for movement of vehicles.
Parking is a major issue in the walled city area and an emergent issue in the rest of the city.
Taking forward this development process to address the bottlenecks in traffic and transport infrastructure, JMC has proposed to take up development of multi-level parking spaces at Ashok marg Nallah sites in the city of Jaipur on Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer basis.
The project is designed on a Existing flowing Nallah ( open drain) in City’s most premium C-Scheme area, it had designed to have small commercial development on the ends of open drain and in between in the centre area it is having multilevel puzzled parking system.
The challenge in the design is that we have to design a project over a continuously flowing drain throughout the year and adjoining road is also having slope of 3 mtr from one end to other end. after a detail study and continuously working we had proposed a option that is taking care of both the challenges.
